Chonee started in the field in 1985, after studying General Sciences at the University of Toronto. Chonee has held senior positions in the health care, social service, and environmental sectors. Some of her professional positions have included those at Greater Niagara General Hospital, Conservation Foundation of Niagara, Welland County General Hospital, and United Way of St. Catharines & District. Chonee has also sat on the Board of Governors for Family and Childrens Services Niagara at an executive level, and has been instrumental in setting up numerous charitable organizations in the Niagara Region including the Niagara Community Foundation.

 

Chonee is well-versed in all facets of fund development for not-for-profit organizations with a specific interest and expertise in governance and board development. Chonee was awarded her Certified Fund Raising Executive (CFRE) designation in 1995 and has since been invited to complete her Fellowship with the AFP for which only 5 Canadians presently hold this designation. Chonee is also looking to pursue her Masters in Business Administration. After many years of successful fundraising in the Niagara Region, Chonee established her own consulting firm, The Dennis Group. Chonee is an active member of the Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP) Greater Toronto Chapter. She is fully bilingual in French and English.
