Karen Piccolo
Recruitment & Fundraising Consultant


Karen is a Recruitment and Fundraising Consultant with The Dennis Group Inc.  Karen held the position of Advancement Director at John Knox Christian School in Brampton for three years, and prior to that she served a four year term as their  Strategic Planning Coordinator. During her tenure with JKCS, Karen developed a comprehensive recruitment program, which included evaluations of current methods, multi-layered, targeted marketing efforts and committed connections with new families in their first year. 

Prior to joining the non-profit sector, Karen held a variety of key roles within the Unilever Corporation, including Corporate Formulations Specialist and Project Lead for the Canadian implementation of a North American information system.  She brings a strong work ethic, excellent communication skills and a strong commitment to Christian education.

Karen currently serves as Executive elder at her church in Brampton, and is actively supporting her daughter as she prepares for a two-month mission trip to the Dominican Republic. Karen and her husband have three children, two are at tdchristian, and the third is in his final year at John Knox in Brampton.

Paul Robson
Fundraising Consultant
 
A seasoned fundraising executive, Paul has worked with many hospitals, geriatric care facilities, the YMCA, private schools, theatres, a church, sports sponsorships and national and international charitable agencies in helping them meet their financial objectives. He has directed successful capital campaigns with goals ranging from $2-$30 million. With a background in Journalism and Public Relations before becoming a fundraising consultant, Paul earned the APR (Accreditation in Public Relations) designation in 1975 and the CFRE designation in 1983.
Paul served as a Vice President and Senior Consultant with two of Canada's largest Fundraising Consultancies and has considerable experience in capital campaign planning and management, educational seminar design, development and implementation, case development, establishing annual campaigns and continuing support programs, developing strategic plans, deferred giving programs and has extensive experience working with boards and other volunteers. He has lead educational sessions at local, provincial, national and international conferences for fundraising executives. Paul has served on the boards of professional and charitable organizations and as president of a corporate charitable foundation. Born and educated in the UK, Paul attended York University and the University of Toronto.

Tony Steenbeek
Fundraising Consultant


Tony has worked on numerous campaigns over the years.  Tony worked on the Brantford Christian School Campaign, which exceeded goal.  He has also worked on the Timothy Christian School Debt Reduction Campaign, Guelph Community Christian School Campaign, and the London District Christian School Feasibility Study and Pre-Campaign Planning Phase.

 

In addition to his work as a Fundraising Consultant, Tony was Chair of the Calvin Christian School Hamilton $2.3M debt reduction campaign.  
 

Tony and his wife Betty are actively involved in their church congregation in Ancaster as small group leaders and he is responsible for training and mentoring other leaders.  He has also served on Church council in the role as Elder and has served on the Board of Directors for Habitat for Humanity Hamilton.  His sons, Derek and Kyle, are active athletes and Tony has also had the privilege to coach soccer at the select and all-star level.  His background in the private sector and his extensive campaign experience combine to make him a valuable resource for our clients at The Dennis Group Inc.

Mark Woods
Fundraising Consultant

Mark joins The Dennis Group Inc. with 17 years of extensive fundraising experience.  During the course of his career Mark has held the position of Development Manager for the Alzheimers Society of Toronto, Director of Fund Development for the Alzheimers Society of Ontario, and Senior Manager of Development for Sheridan Institute of Technology and Advanced Learning. 

Mark has successfully worked on fundraising initiatives ranging in scope from $600,000 up to $36M.  Mark has extensive experience in volunteer recruitment and training, donor stewartship, prospect research, and campaign planning.
